Sandra
Hooper, President of Hoop Smarts, LLC,
received her undergraduate training at Valparasio
University in Indiana. At Valpo, she earned her Bachelor’s
Degree in Elementary Education with a specialization
in Diagnostic Reading Difficulties. After accumulating
a few years of teaching experience, Hooper continued
on to earn her Master’s Degree in Curriculum
Design and Instruction from Concordia University in
Irvine, California.
As an undergraduate student at Valpo, Hooper also
served as a Student Assistant Coach for the Lady Crusader
Basketball team. After a year of coaching at the high
school level in San Diego, California, Hooper was
hired on at Prince of Peace Christian School, in Carrollton,
Texas, as the first high school girls’ varsity
coach. After three short years, the Lady Eagles won
their district title.
Hooper has
been coaching and tutoring children of all ages for
over 10 years. Some of her experiences include working
with children at the Boys’ and Girls’
Clubs of America, volunteer basketball coach for the
Special Olympics of San Diego County, and working
in various after-school and summer child care programs.
Miss Hooper is currently teaching 4th grade and Physical
Education at Coram
Deo Academy in Carrollton, Texas.
